British Virgin Islands

Redesign + Content Audit + Information Architecture

HSMAI Adrian Awards/Best of UX : Gold Award

The British Virgin Islands Tourism Board was in need of a new website. BVI is an understated destination that offers independent-minded travelers natural beauty, unpretentious attitudes and relaxing activities, while preserving "Nature's Little Secrets." One of their larger pain points was the fact that you cannot arrive to the island directly by plane; you must take an additional ferry to get to the islands. Not many people took the time to understand where they were located thus, most of their target audience was being lost to other similar destinations.

The website needed to do a few things:

1. Reduce number of clicks to relevant content

2. Reduce calls & emails to the board

3. Increase time spent on planning and booking sections

4. Create a dynamic site that encapsulates the true feeling of the islands

My Role:

UX Lead : I pitched for this client in the beautiful BVI, helped win the account, assessed what needed to be done to complete the scope of the project, and conducted all deliverables from strategy to implementation.
